Among those at risk are striker Victor Osimhen, winger Ademola Lookman, defender Semi Ajayi, and goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, all of whom could miss the Round of 16 if they receive another booking during Tuesday’s fixture.
Osimhen has been crucial to Nigeria’s attack throughout the competition, but a second caution could force head coach Eric Chelle to adjust his front line. Paul Onuachu is expected to be the top alternative if the Napoli star is benched or unavailable.
Lookman, who has scored in both of Nigeria’s matches so far, is also walking a disciplinary tightrope. His form has been vital to the team’s momentum and confidence heading into the knockout rounds.
In defense, Semi Ajayi’s situation may prompt tactical changes, with Zaidu Sanusi being a possible option if Chelle decides to rotate to avoid suspension risks.
Between the sticks, goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali is also under close watch after picking up a yellow card for time-wasting in the win over Tunisia. Francis Uzoho remains ready to step in if needed.
Nigeria have already secured a place in the knockout stage after back-to-back victories over Tanzania and Tunisia. A win against Uganda would hand the Super Eagles a perfect nine points and send a strong message to their AFCON rivals.
