United States Congressman, Riley Moore, has revealed that more U.S. military airstrikes will take place in Nigeria as part of efforts to combat terrorism and protect vulnerable citizens.
In a statement shared on his 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) account, Moore stressed that President Donald Trump has no intention of destabilising Nigeria, but rather to support counter-terrorism operations and safeguard lives.
According to him, the U.S. airstrikes carried out on Christmas Day — in cooperation with Nigerian authorities — have restored hope to many affected communities.
“President Trump is not trying to bring war to Nigeria. He is bringing peace and security to Nigeria and to thousands of Christians who face horrific violence and death,” Moore wrote.
“The strikes against ISIS on Christmas, in coordination with the Nigerian government, have given hope to the Christians in Nigeria.”
Speaking in an interview on Fox News’ Mornings With Maria, Moore painted a disturbing picture of the continued violence in parts of Nigeria, particularly against Christian communities. He claimed that attacks on Christians have continued unchallenged for more than 10 years.
According to the Congressman, tens of thousands have been killed since 2009, with thousands reportedly losing their lives in 2025 alone. He added that the level of suffering remains far worse than many outsiders realise.
Moore recounted emotional encounters during his visits, saying:
“Underground, it is more dire than you could imagine. I’ve seen this in person, meeting mothers who lost all their children, murdered right before them.”
