The Indigenous People of Biafra has issued a fresh clarification statement, firmly declaring that the Monday sit-at-home directive remains unchanged, binding, and will be fully observed, despite what it described as coordinated attempts to mislead the public.
In the statement signed by Comrade Emma Powerful, IPOB cautioned that individuals allegedly fronting for government and political interests while falsely claiming to speak for the movement would be exposed at the appropriate time.
The group reiterated that the sit-at-home is a principled act of solidarity with its detained leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, and warned the public to ignore all counter-statements circulating online.
IPOB Denies Ejiofor’s Authority
IPOB categorically stated that Ifeanyi Ejiofor has no mandate within the organization, stressing that he was disengaged from any role connected to the movement more than two years ago.
The statement dismissed claims suggesting that Emma Powerful had resigned or “does not exist,” describing them as deliberate falsehoods aimed at weakening public confidence and sowing confusion.
Alleged Internal Pressure, Leadership Hijack Claims
According to IPOB, certain individuals linked to the Directorate of State (DOS) recently attempted to pressure the spokesperson to stop issuing statements drawing attention to Kanu’s continued detention.
IPOB alleged that the move was part of a broader plot to hijack the leadership structure of the movement and divert attention away from its core objective.
Soludo Talks Condemned
The group also accused some DOS appointees of compromising the struggle by allegedly engaging in discussions with Charles Soludo, actions IPOB claimed were designed to weaken the solidarity displayed by traders of Onitsha Main Market.
Such actions, the statement said, amount to a betrayal of the collective sacrifice of Biafrans.
Fake Resignations, Online Misinformation
IPOB urged the public to disregard all resignation letters and announcements attributed to Emma Powerful, describing them as forged documents pushed by what it called “anti-Biafra elements.”
It further alleged that hostile forces have infiltrated online platforms, using the names of IPOB and DOS to spread misinformation and confusion.
Media Engagement Announced
Emma Powerful confirmed that he would be appearing on radio, television, and other media platforms from Monday through Tuesday morning to further clarify IPOB’s position.

IPOB advised Biafrans to remain vigilant, reject misinformation, and comply fully with the Monday sit-at-home order, insisting that the wider IPOB family remains united and resolute.
“Falsehoods may trend, but the truth will prevail,” the statement concluded.
