Adedeji Adeleke, the father of Nigerian music star Davido, has rejected claims that his son is the biological father of a 12-year-old girl identified as Anuoluwapo.
Speaking at a press conference in Lagos on Wednesday, Adeleke stated that the girl is not Davido’s child, stressing that several medical tests have already addressed the matter.
According to him, a total of five DNA tests were conducted to determine the authenticity of the paternity claim, and all the results reportedly came back negative. He maintained that Davido cannot be held responsible for a child who is not biologically his.
Adeleke, however, noted that the young girl still deserves to know her real father, despite the outcome of the tests.
Interestingly, Davido’s father disclosed that he has continued to support Anuoluwapo financially, even after the DNA results ruled out Davido’s paternity. He explained that he regularly sends money to cover her school fees and general welfare.
The businessman added that Anu’s aunt, who serves as her guardian, always provides receipts and proof of purchases made with the funds sent to her.
Adeleke further revealed that Davido is unaware of the financial assistance he has been offering or of his direct communication with the girl’s aunt.
“I did not discuss it with David or anyone else,” Adeleke said.
