Nobody In This Country Has Ever Succeeded With Betrayal – Kwankwaso Warns NNPP Members Plotting Exit

Former Kano State Governor and National Leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has issued a stern warning to party loyalists considering dumping the NNPP, insisting that anyone who chooses to defect will fail politically.

Kwankwaso gave the warning while addressing supporters in Kano amid growing rumours that some members may switch allegiance ahead of future political calculations.

According to reports, some loyalists under the Kwankwasiyya Movement are contemplating joining the All Progressives Congress (APC), believing it may give Kwankwaso a stronger pathway to the presidency. Speaking on behalf of the movement, Abdullahi Rogo — Director-General of Protocol at the Kano State Government House — said the planned defection was in the interest of Kano.

However, Kwankwaso dismissed the idea and cautioned strongly against betrayal within the party.

“What I am seeing here is beyond what I expected. I am aware that a few, very few of you have decided to cross to the other side; don’t worry, whoever knows them should advise them,” he said.

Kwankwaso emphasized that political betrayal has never ended well for anyone in Nigeria’s history.

“Nobody in this country or elsewhere has ever succeeded with betrayal — it doesn’t work that way. Look at our history from 1999 till date. Those who betrayed this group have never succeeded. They may succeed temporarily — day one, day two, even 10 years — but where are they now?”

“They are on the floor, flat on the ground. Learn from other people's experience. Don’t wait to learn the hard way. Work together as a family and stand by the ideology.”
