A Migili-speaking area in Ashige, located within the Lafia Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, was thrown into confusion and panic on Tuesday night after armed men stormed Akunza community during a traditional wedding celebration.
According to reports, the attack happened while the ceremony was in full swing, forcing guests and residents to flee for their lives. At least three people were reportedly killed, while several others were left with various degrees of injuries.
A community youth leader, who spoke to Daily Post, confirmed the incident and revealed that women and children were among the injured. They are currently receiving treatment at a nearby health centre.
As of the time of publishing this report, the reason behind the attack remains unknown.
