Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, has stirred early political conversations ahead of the 2027 presidential election following the appearance of campaign-style posters across major parts of Kaduna.
The posters, which feature Amaechi’s image prominently, carry slogans describing him as “the only person to be trusted” and “the only man for the job.” The messages emphasise themes such as unity, equality, stability, and development, fuelling speculation about possible early political positioning.
According to residents, the posters were mounted at strategic locations across the Kaduna metropolis, including Ahmadu Bello Way, Ali Akilu Way, and areas surrounding the Kaduna State Government House. They were also sighted along the busy Kawo Bridge corridor leading toward Zaria.
The displays quickly drew public attention, with motorists and pedestrians slowing down to observe them. In some areas, particularly around Kawo Bridge, the activity briefly disrupted early-morning traffic.
Amaechi, who holds the traditional title of Dan Amanan Kasar Hausa of Daura, has an extensive political background, having served as Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Governor of Rivers State, and Minister of Transportation.
Despite the growing speculation, Amaechi has not officially declared any intention to run for president. However, the emergence of the posters has renewed discussions about a possible return to the presidential race.
Amaechi previously contested the All Progressives Congress presidential primary in 2022, where he finished second behind
President Bola Tinubu.
